Homeworld 3 Is Getting A Lot Of Post-Launch Content, Both Free And Paid
Gearbox has revealed the post-launch roadmap for Homeworld 3, and there’s a lot of content for the game coming just in its first year.
For the game’s post-launch support, Gearbox will alternate between both free and paid DLC. In June, the first update is a free content drop that will add new challenges and artifacts. July will have paid DLC with a new playable faction, new faction starting fleets, a new faction emblem, and even more artifacts and challenges.
August has additional free challenges and artifacts along with new maps and systems. October will have the second wave of paid DLC which contains similar items that the first one did.
From there, Gearbox becomes more vague with its release windows, as Q4 2024 has another free content drop. In 2025, the third new faction will arrive along with more free challenges and maps.
The free content will be made for everyone who purchased the base game, and the content updates are exclusive to the War Games Co-Op mode.
Homeworld 3 launches on May 13 for PC after numerous delays, but players who preorder the Fleet Command Edition bundle get to play the game 72 hours early on May 10.

Mad Max 4K Blu-Ray Box Set Is Cheap At Amazon Ahead Of Furiosa’s Release
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga hits theaters on May 24, and it’s already earning rave reviews from critics. It serves as a prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road, meaning you’ll get more out of the upcoming film if you’ve seen George Miller’s previous work. If you haven’t yet seen Fury Road–or if you just need a refresher–you’ll find the Mad Max 4-Film Anthology on sale for $40 (was $90) leading up to the release of Furiosa, which includes not just Fury Road, but three other entries in the franchise. Alternatively, you can get the High Octane Collection $20 (was $80). Though this one mostly contains standard Blu-rays, it does come with a 4K Blu-ray of Fury Road.
$40 (was $90)
This is close to the lowest price we’ve ever seen for the title, with it previously hitting $37 around the 2023 holiday season. The volume includes 4K UHD versions of Mad Max (1979), The Road Warrior (1981), Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985), and Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). As a bonus, you’ll get digital codes for all four films. That makes this the best way to catch up on the action before heading to theaters for Furiosa.
Mad Max 4-Film Anthology Special Features
Along with the four films, you’ll get a few special features. This includes an introduction from film critic Leonard Maltin, commentary from George Miller and Cinematographer Dean Semler, and Road War: The Making of Road Warrior.
Prime members in select locations are eligible for one-day delivery, so it’s possible to check out the collection before the new film hits theaters on May 24.
If you don’t mind stepping down to Blu-ray, you’ll find the Mad Max High Octane Collection on sale for $20 (down from $80). That matches its lowest-ever price. This collection is slightly different than the 4-Film Anthology above, as it gets you the following:
- Mad Max
- The Road Warrior
- Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
- Mad Max: Fury Road
- Mad Max: Fury Road (4K UHD)
- Mad Max: Fury Road Black & Chrome
- The Madness of Max (Behind-the-scenes documentary)
- Road War Documentary
Once you’re done catching up on the action, be sure to grab tickets to see Furiosa on May 24. Our Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga review gave the film a 9/10 due to its incredible action scenes, a stellar performance from Anya Taylor-Joy, and an engaging script.
Tomb Raider I-III Remastered’s New Collector’s Edition Is Locked And Loaded With Cool Extras
After launching earlier this year on digital storefronts, a physical edition of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is now available for preorder. The standard edition will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, but fans looking to splurge can also check out a pretty cool deluxe edition and a collector’s edition with neat extras. These will be available on September 24, and they’re being sold through Limited Run Games and several other retailers. By the time you’re finished reading this sentence, the collector’s edition will probably be sold out already.
In case you missed it, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is a comprehensive collection of the original trilogy of games starring Lara Croft. They’ve all been given a fantastic visual makeover, but thanks to the game making use of original assets, you can switch back to the blocky original graphics if you’re feeling nostalgic. On top of the original globetrotting campaign, this collection also bundles in all of the DLC released for those titles.
Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Standard Edition ($30)
Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Collector’s Edition ($200)
Preorders aren’t live for the deluxe edition yet, but this version will include a steelbook cover, an exploration map book featuring over 80 pages of secrets from the original trilogy, a collectible box, and the collection’s original soundtrack when it’s available.
For the collector’s edition, Tomb Raider fans get a lot more in the form of three 12×16 posters, a set of premium trading cards, the full collection’s original soundtrack in both physical CD and digital download formats, a map book, and Lara Croft polygonal figurines from each title. The big draw here is a set of two replica Lara Croft pistols in a lit shadow box, and both weapons have a unique pixelated design.
Limited Run Games is also selling Switch Nitro Decks sporting Tomb Raider designs, and these are designed to symbolize Lara’s journey across the trilogy of games. Nitro Decks are very nice for when you’re looking to make your Switch more comfortable to use, and they come with Hall Effect sticks, remappable back buttons, a turbo mode, and several other features. They can be used for either standard or OLED model Switch handhelds.
Kingdom Hearts Series Will Arrive On Steam Next Month
Square Enix has announced that the Kingdom Hearts franchise will finally come to Steam. The full Dark Seeker Saga starring Sora, Donald, and Goofy will come to Valve’s storefront on June 13–which is less than a month away.
Previously, the Kingdom Hearts series was exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC. But next month Square Enix says the action-RPG franchise will open up to a new audience on Steam. Below are the games that will be available, along with a bundle of all three:
- Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix
- Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue
- Kingdom Hearts 3 + Re Mind DLC
- Kingdom Hearts Intergum Masterpiece (a bundle of the three experiences above and includes the Dead of Night keyblade)
The original Kingdom Hearts launched in 2002 as a PlayStation 2 exclusive. The series mixes together the Disney universe with Final Fantasy characters. Along with three mainline entries, there are tons of sidestory games that released on handhelds and other platforms, like Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep on PlayStation Portable (which is included with the HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix experience).
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue came out in 2017, while the latest mainline entry was Kingdom Hearts 3 in 2019. These collections of games are currently available on the Epic Games Store, PS4, and Xbox One. The action-RPG series also arrived on Nintendo Switch in 2022 as part of the franchise’s 20th anniversary.
No price points were given for the games, though on Nintendo eShop, Kingdom Hearts Intergum Masterpiece costs $90.
Diablo 4 Patch Significantly Reduces Cost Of Transmuting Masterwork Materials
Blizzard is continuing to refine elements of its massive Loot Reborn patch for Diablo 4, which dropped last week and fundamentally overhauled some of the game’s core systems. The latest hotfix for the game only introduces one major change, but it will be a welcome one for anyone working on Masterworking their items, with the gold cost of transmutation dramatically reduced.
Masterworking is a new system added in the Loot Reborn patch which gives players a new way to upgrade their most powerful items, as well as introducing a new endgame dungeon to farm for materials. Players can take on the Pit to earn crafting materials Obducite, Ingolith, and Neathiron, which are used to unlock successively higher ranks of masterwork.

While you have to progress through the Pit to unlock the rarer materials–with Ingolith only dropping between Tier 31 and Tier 60 of the dungeon, and Neathiron from Tier 61 up–players can transmute extra high-level materials to one of lower rarity at the Alchemist.
The latest patch dramatically reduces the gold cost of this process, with the most expensive transmutation, the Large Ingolith Cache, reduced from 6,000,000 gold to just 60,000. The other caches have seen similar reductions, with the cheapest Small Obducite Cache starting at just 1000 gold. The other material costs have remained unchanged, with one Neathiron still transmuting to three Ingolith, and one Ingolith transmuting to three Obducite.
The newest patch also introduces “various performance and stability improvements,” according to the patch notes, which can be read in full below.
The main Diablo 4 Loot Reborn patch has been well-received by players, which is likely linked to Blizzard’s decision to playtest the patch using a PTR before releasing it to the public. While some elements may not have received universal praise, like a change to the Salvage All Items feature which may have seen players accidentally getting rid of rare and valuable items, Diablo fans are generally on board with the direction the latest game is taking.
Diablo 4 is in line for its first major expansion later this year, Vessel of Hatred, which Blizzard teased with imagery of a lush, jungle-like setting.

New Elden Ring DLC Trailer Delves Into More Story Details
From Software just dropped a new cinematic trailer for Elden Ring’s upcoming DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, and it’s packed with lore and details to discuss.
In the trailer, we see a battle that takes place prior to The Shattering, the big calamitic event that kicks off a lot of the story in Elden Ring. The battle seems to take place during a war that asserts the dominance that the Greater Will and the Golden Order will have by the events of the main game, and we get to see a lot of Messmer the Impaler doing what he does best, too.
Sadly, we don’t see more gameplay or confirmation of what we can expect to experience when playing Shadow of the Erdtree. That said, the trailer does showcase some runes that could be a replacement for the Lost Grace resting points seen in the main game–so that might be a potential indicator toward gameplay.
Game director Hidetaka Miyazaki has said that Shadow of the Erdtree will be “the first and last DLC” for Elden Ring, making this our final hurrah into GameSpot’s Game of the Year for 2022. It’s shaping up to be one of the largest post-launch expansions FromSoftware has ever done (possibly just the largest, period) as Shadow of the Erdtree’s map is as big or bigger than Limgrave, the first major area in Elden Ring.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is set to launch June 21 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC.
Deadpool And Wolverine Has Strongest Day-One Ticket Pre-Sales In Franchise History At Fandango
Deadpool and Wolverine tickets went on sale on May 20, and they sold very well at Fandango. The ticket-seller reported that first-day pre-sales for Deadpool and Wolverine are the site’s biggest of 2024 so far. Not only that, but Deadpool and Wolverine first-day ticket sales at Fandango are highest in franchise history.
To celebrate the achievement, Fandango released a new image of Deadpool and Wolverine showing Deadpool doing his shocked face and Wolverine standing alongside him looking buff.
You can order tickets for Deadpool and Wolverine now through Fandango. The movie hits theaters on July 26, and it is Marvel’s one and only film coming to cinemas until 2025.
In addition to the ticket pre-sale accomplishment, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman suited up for a Heineken beer ad to promote the film and the drink. In the silly ad, Deadpool steals some of Wolverine’s adamantium to create a new Heineken brew known as Heineken Silver. Released in April, Heineken Silver is a new version of the iconic beer that’s brewed at -1°C to help it have a better taste, apparently.
Deadpool and Wolverine is the first new Deadpool film since Deadpool 2 released in 2018, prior to Disney buying the Deadpool franchise. Some wondered and worried that Disney might try to tone things down, but that is not the case. In fact, Reynolds recently talked about how he was surprised with how much he was able to get away with in Deadpool and Wolverine as it relates to the film’s R rating.
“I hope it doesn’t sound condescending, I’m really proud of [Disney and Marvel] for doing this,” Reynolds said. “I think it’s a huge step for them. I mean it adds a whole other color to this kaleidoscopic wheel that is that company and the different people that they have been entertaining for forever so I was surprised though that they let us go… hard R.”
