Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 2 Adds Game Of Thrones And Ted Lasso’s Hannah Waddingham
Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning director Christopher McQuarrie has revealed that Game of Thrones and Ted Lasso actress Hannah Waddingham will appear in the upcoming action movie’s sequel. Fans will see her in Dead Reckoning Part Two in 2024.
McQuarrie shared a photo of Waddingham in character on Instagram, standing on some kind of massive military ship, looking into the distance. The caption reads “Godspeed.”
Dead Reckoning is being split into two parts, with Part One slated for release in July 2023, and Part Two coming the following summer. Tom Cruise stars as Ethan Hunt, with a supporting cast including Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Cary Elwes, and Ving Rhames.
Waddingham stars as Rebecca on Apple’s Ted Lasso, which returns for Season 3 on March 15. She is also known for her role as Septa Unella on HBO’s Game of Thrones.
After the next Mission: Impossible films, Cruise will get shot into real outer space on a rocket for a new movie.

Prison Architect 2 Gets Last Minute Delay To September
The jail simulator game, Prison Architect 2, has been delayed once again. It was initially due out in March, then delayed to May. Now, it’s coming out on September 3.
Despite being less than a month away from release, publisher Paradox Interactive has revealed that Prison Architect 2 has been running into problems. “Recently, we ran some stability tests on our latest version of the game and noticed unexpected issues occurring too often, especially on low specs configurations,” Paradox Interactive explained in a statement to Eurogamer.
“Once we identified the issue, we started working on improving Prison Architect 2’s memory usage to mitigate the situation. Overall, the work has been successful, and we have seen improvements on lower-spec machines and consoles.”
The publisher went on to say that the memory fix gave way to new issues, such as crashes, especially on other PC configurations. Remedying them took time away from polishing the game up for release. While there is a certified version of the game on all platforms ready for launch, the publisher wants to launch it in the best state possible, hence the lengthy delay. It believes the new memory usage system will significantly improve player experience in the long run.
Paradox Interactive also issued a statement this week about another game it published, City Skylines II, addressing the game’s rough state and rushed content plans.
The first Prison Architect game was released in 2015. In GameSpot’s Prison Architect review, we said, “That’s the strange duality of Prison Architect. It provides a gripping, God’s-eye view of an element of society the Sims and Sim Cities of the gaming world dare not touch, but it is so beholden to the idea of being ‘a game’ that it threatens to neutralize the considerable number of strong, lasting aspects it possesses.”
Prison Architect 2 will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
COD Mobile Weapon Inspection Is An Entire WW2 Cinematic Experience
Call of Duty: Mobile is apparently getting a new weapon that has the most cinematic weapon inspection animation we’ve ever seen. A leak has revealed a new mythic weapon for Call of Duty: Mobile that has players staring down the barrel of the gun to see a WW2 sequence that looks like it could be from Saving Private Ryan. Soldiers take cover and shield themselves from incoming machine gun fire on a battlefield complete with a tank and planes flying overhead.
A solider collapses on the battlefield and is helped up by another infantryman who says, “Don’t worry, soldier, I’m with you every step of the way. We stand together. We fight for the generations to come.” Again, all of this is happening on top of the weapon, an MG42.
Normally, Call of Duty weapon inspections amount to the player looking down the barrel and around the sides of their gun to get a better look at it. This is something entirely different and far more impressive.
The video was published by the Leakers On Duty account, but as of yet, this specific weapon animation doesn’t appear to have been officially announced or detailed. The music from the sequel was apparently composed by none other than legendary composer Hans Zimmer.
The MG42 has various kill effects, too, including one that emits a small airplane that drops bombs. Check out the video below to get a closer look.
The Mythic MG42 is apparently a new gun for Call of Duty: Mobile, but whether or not it could show up in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, Warzone, or Modern Warfare III remains to be seen. Warzone Mobile, Warzone, and Modern Warfare III share store bundles, but Call of Duty: Mobile stands apart as its own thing.
Check Out These Gorgeous Studio Ghibli Papercraft Model Kits
From My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away to Howl’s Moving Castle and Kiki’s Delivery Service, Studio Ghibli is responsible for some of the most beloved animated films of the past fifty years. Plenty of merch has been released for the iconic movies, but few are as adorable as these papercraft decorations–which are both affordable and will make for great display pieces in your home theater or office.
If you’re unfamiliar with papercraft, they’re essentially a buildable kit that lets you piece together a scene using nothing more than premium art paper. You typically don’t need any fancy tools to complete their construction other than some tweezers, scissors or blade, and glue, and each kit comes with all the paper you’ll need to build your masterpiece.
One of the best Studio Ghibli papercraft designs on sale is My Neighbor Totoro: Wood Style. It depicts Totoro, Mei, and Satsuki relaxing by a river–and its unique construction consists of both wood and paper. It’s a bit pricey at $32, but it’s a premium option if you want something a bit fancier than just paper.
Other cool models include Spirited Away: Chihiro In A Mysterious Town for $18, Howl’s Moving Castle: Good Weather for Laundry Day for $24 (down from $26), and My Neighbor Totoro: At The Bus Stop for $19 (down from $22). The Wolf Among Us 2 Is Still In Production This Year Despite Layoffs, New Images Revealed
New images from The Wolf Among Us 2 have been released, confirming that Telltale Games is still working on the game, despite it being announced back in 2019.
On the Telltale community forums, the developer showed off four new screenshots from The Wolf Among Us 2, saying, “We’ve been quiet because we’ve been heads down, focusing on the promise of TWAU2. While we can’t give a big update yet, here’s a little something for you: In-progress shots from the current build. The work continues. The Fabletown gang will be back.”
One is a shot of a snowy city with a person standing on a rooftop, presumably the protagonist, Bigby Wolf. A second screenshot shows Bigby’s face as he’s seemingly talking to someone, and a third screenshot shows two character sitting down to have a conversation. The fourth screenshot simply shows Bigby walking around in a kitchen. You can see them, as rounded up by Geoff Keighley, below.
Telltale Games laid off developers back in October, and according to one former cinematic artist, the team working on The Wolf Among Us 2 was already “very small.” Unfortunately, additional information about the game’s progress couldn’t be revealed as those who were laid off had to sign an NDA about it.
When the layoffs occurred, Telltale reiterated that the game was still being worked on and wasn’t in any danger of being canceled. However, it was delayed out of 2023 with no updated release window at this time. It will launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
The Simpsons Might Kill Off This Character Very Soon
The Simpsons may kill off a character on this weekend’s episode of the long-running animated series. Matt Selman, who has written for The Simpsons since 1997, posted a cryptic message on social media this week, portending the death of a character.
He said, “WHO WILL DIE THIS SUNDAY ON THE SIMPSONS?” Attached to the post were images of Simpsons family members Homer, Bart, and Marge, as well as Larry the Moe’s Tavern barfly. It’s pretty safe to assume that it’s going to be Larry that dies, but who knows. Also unknown is if the death of the character, should it actually happen, will be permanent.
It’s possible someone could die and come back to life, or it’s possible “die” takes on a different meaning altogether. In any event, the only thing that’s clear here is that Selman is trying to drum up interest in this weekend’s episode of The Simpsons. The episode is titled “Cremains of the Day” and it follows Homer and the guys from Moe’s going on a roadtrip to scatter the ashes of someone. That person is probably Larry.
Alongside Sam, Larry is a regular at Moe’s Tavern that viewers know almost nothing about beyond his interest in drinking beer. In the Season 7 episode, “Two Bad Neighbors,” Homer has a rummage sale and gives Larry a blender, and Larry widely smiles upon receiving it. You can see more clips of Larry on The Simpsons in the video below.
Larry would not be the first Simpsons character to be killed off or to vanish from the show. Mona Simpson, Bleeding Gums Murphy, Maude Flanders, and Fat Tony were all killed off. In the case of Fat Tony, his death wasn’t exactly permanent, as the character Fit Tony rose out of his ashes, then gained weight and became Fat Tony again, with Joe Mantegna doing the voice throughout. Schoolteacher Edna Krabappel was written off the show after voice actor Marcia Wallace passed away.
The Simpsons is now in its 35th season, and will come back for Season 36 later.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 Update Will Make Dragonsplague Less Annoying
Capcom plans to scale back the infection rate of Dragonsplague in Dragon’s Dogma 2 later this month. In addition, it will become more obvious when Pawns have fallen ill with the disease.
On X (formerly known as Twitter), the official Dragon’s Dogma account revealed the upcoming update that focuses on Dragonsplague and Pawn behavior. “Glowing eyes will be more noticeable” to affected Pawns, the notes state, and players will now be able inspect them up close in the status screen. In addition, your Pawns should navigate cliffsides better, meaning they shouldn’t tumble over them as much.

Dragonsplague has been a real plague for Dragon’s Dogma 2 players. In fact, modders have even removed the disease from the action-RPG because it had become so bothersome. On top of that, players had come up with a rotten gimmick to warn others in Dragon’s Dogma 2 about infected Pawns.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched on March 22 and pretty quickly sold over 2.5 million copies. This is a feat that took the original game roughly two years to reach. Last month also saw an update for the action-RPG that finally let players start a new adventure. Previously, you couldn’t begin again in the title.
It’s not just Dragonsplague you should be aware of when deciding to venture out into the lands of Vermund and Battahl. We have you covered with 20 things to know before playing Dragon’s Dogma 2. For more, check out GameSpot’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 review.
