Amazon's Big Deal Days Event Gets The Holiday Savings Season Started Early

Amazon’s Big Deal Days Event Gets The Holiday Savings Season Started Early

Amazon has announced the dates for its next major sales event. Dubbed Prime Big Deal Days, the two-day sale will run October 10-11. The full 48-hour sale will be exclusive to Prime members, though you can probably still expect to see some nice deals to take advantage of without a Prime membership.

Prime Big Deal Days sounds like another Prime Day, right?

Big Deal Days is a Prime Day sequel

If you’re getting Prime Day vibes here, you’re not alone. Last year, Amazon hosted a sale in October called Prime Early Access. In reality, that sale wound up being very similar to Prime Day proper. Though Amazon has switched the moniker to Big Deal Days, everything about this sale sounds like a Prime Day 2023 sequel.

Prime Big Deals Day will jumpstart the holiday shopping season. Holiday deals seem to drop earlier and earlier each year, and Amazon’s new sales event will continue that trend. The sale will effectively serve as an early opportunity to shop Black Friday 2023 deals.

In all likelihood, Amazon won’t be the only retailer offering wide-ranging deals on October 10-11. Competing retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, and Target always host competing sales during Amazon’s big sales events. Look for that to happen during Big Deal Days, too. No major retailer has announced a rival sale just yet, but that’ll probably happen soon.

Big Deal Days is technically only for Prime members

Prime Big Deal Days runs October 10-11

Yes, just like Prime Day, Big Deal Days is reserved for Amazon Prime members. A Prime membership costs $15/month or $139/year. However, new subscribers can take advantage of a free 30-day trial. And since we’re within 30 days of the sale, you’ll be able to shop all of the official Big Deal Days offers without paying for a membership.

But everyone who has ever shopped a Prime Day sale knows that there are always plenty of deals at Amazon that don’t require a membership to buy. The reason for this is because of the competing sales. Amazon often matches deals from rival sales, without placing them behind the Prime membership wall. As such, Amazon’s sales always wind up being even bigger than advertised.

Plus, Amazon’s official deals will extend beyond the Amazon website this time. Prime members will be able to get the same deals directly from select manufacturers, including Targus and Wyze.

Big Deal Days early deals

Expect Amazon Fire devices to be prominently featured during Big Deal Days

Most of the best Big Deal Days promotions won’t be live until October 10 at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET. However, it wouldn’t be an Amazon sales event without a slate of early offers. Amazon has already created a sales hub where early deals will be housed.

There aren’t very many deals at this time, but you can save on select Amazon Fire TVs and tablets, Bluetooth speakers, and smartwatches. Like Prime Day earlier this year, members can also request invites to purchase select products.

During the event, you can expect the usual well-rounded slate of deals on gaming, tech, and entertainment products. These Amazon sales are always great for those looking to expand their game libraries for Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X. It’ll also be a good opportunity to buy gaming accessories like controllers and headsets as well as PC gaming hardware and gear.

How to get a free $15 Amazon credit ahead of Big Deal Days

Amazon is once again giving Prime members the chance to get free money to spend during Big Deal Days. All you need to do is download the Amazon Photos app and upload a picture by October 7. If you took advantage of this offer leading up to Prime Day, you won’t be able to do it again, but those who missed out have another chance.

Amazon is also offering a number of other promotions in the weeks leading up to Big Deal Days. If you own an Amazon-branded credit card, you can get 10% back on Amazon devices purchased between October 2-12.

If you’ve never subscribed to Amazon Music Unlimited, you can secure four months for free. Meanwhile, current subscribers can switch to a family plan for four months while paying the individual membership price.
