Apex Legends’ Best Flatline Skins Just Got Nerfed
When it comes to weapon nerfs, most people think recoil or weapon spawn rates, not cosmetic items. But Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment announced via blog post that two cosmetic weapon skins for the Flatline assault rifle have been changed to negate the potentially unfair advantage the skins’ original designs allegedly gave users compared to other Flatline skins.
The skins in question are the reactive Heat Sink skin, a Legendary-tier reward for completing Season 4’s battle pass, and the Revelations skin from the recent Gaiden event. Both skins had cosmetic designs that made ADSing a bit easier on the eyes than the standard iron sights experience should.

“Competitive integrity is and will always be a core pillar for Apex Legends,” reads the developer’s blog post. “As part of that, our default iron sights are designed to push players to loot for better optics. We also believe that skins shouldn’t be a factor in the sights functionality as well. During Season 4, we released the Heat Sink reactive skin for the VK-47 Flatline rifle and we heard feedback from some players that the Aim Down Sights (ADS) felt superior to any other skin available.”
There’s no word yet on whether other weapon skins may suffer the same fate. For now, Respawn doesn’t seem to be planning on any immediate changes.
“As our good friend Kuben Blisk puts it: ‘You kill me, you’re better. I kill you, I’m better.'” reads the end of the blog post, quoting Titanfall 2’s main antagonist and the current commissioner of the Apex Games. “We hope players who own these skins will appreciate these improvements and support us as we work to keep Apex Legends fun and fair.”
Apex Legends is free to play on console and PC. A mobile version of the game, Apex Legends Mobile, is available for download on Android and iOS devices.

Call Of Duty 2024 Release Window, Black Ops Rumors, Game Pass, And Everything Else We May Know
Activision has released a new Call of Duty game every year since 2005, and that streak will continue in 2024 with the next entry in the main series. But 2024’s Call of Duty game will be the most notable in years. That’s because it’s the first new entry since Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard and the Call of Duty franchise in October 2023.
What does this mean for 2024’s Call of Duty game? We don’t know yet, as the game hasn’t even been officially announced yet. But we do know this year’s game, whatever it turns out to be, will come to both Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as part of a multi-year agreement. Microsoft has also discussed the possibility of bringing Call of Duty games to Switch.
2024’s Call of Duty game is believed to be the next entry in the Black Ops series, and its story could take place in part during the Gulf War. It’s expected the game will connect with Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, as those games share progression.
Here’s everything we know so far about CoD 2024. We will continue to update this story as new information comes to light.
When will CoD 2024 release?
Activision historically launches new Call of Duty games in October or November, and that trend is expected to continue this year. The game is expected to be shown off and discussed following the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9 with its own dedicated video broadcast. Imagery from the announcement of this event suggests the game will be a new entry in the Black Ops franchise. This was backed up by a report from Insider Gaming, which also mentioned an October release.
CoD 2024 platforms
This year’s Call of Duty game is expected to release on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, in addition to PC. Microsoft now owns Activision, the Call of Duty franchise, and all of its developers, but the company is not planning to make Call of Duty exclusive to Xbox. Instead, Microsoft and Sony inked a 10-year deal to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation beyond 2030. Microsoft has also discussed bringing Call of Duty to Switch and has made a deal with Nintendo to potentially do this. But it remains to be seen how the Call of Duty franchise could appear on Switch and what trade-offs the Switch version could have compared to the other console platforms given the relatively lower specs of the Switch. Switch 2 is on the horizon and may release by March 2024, though it’s unclear if the new CoD would appear on that system, either.
Will CoD 2024 be on Xbox Game Pass?
A major question that remains unanswered regarding CoD 2024 is whether or not it will launch day-and-date on Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft has said that one of the biggest perks of Game Pass is getting access to all first-party games at launch as part of their subscription, so fans are no doubt expecting to be able to play this year’s Call of Duty game at launch on Game Pass. Microsoft, however, has not come forward to confirm this explicitly.
Recently, Xbox president Sarah Bond reiterated that games from “across the whole slate” of Microsoft’s first-party teams will come to Game Pass, though she did not mention Activision or Call of Duty by name. Microsoft is reportedly having internal debates currently about bringing Call of Duty to Game Pass.
Some industry observers have theorized that Microsoft could miss out on serious money if it puts Call of Duty on Game Pass. Others have posited that having Call of Duty on Game Pass could help drive Game Pass subscriptions and make Xbox a more desirable platform on which to play Call of Duty.
CoD 2024 rumored story, setting, and characters
This year’s new Call of Duty game is rumored to be the next entry in the Black Ops series, with a story that takes place, at least in part, during the Gulf War. Call of Duty games are known to be globetrotting affairs that travel through numerous locations–and time periods. So if the Gulf War is part of the game’s story, it could be just one element of it. Rumors have suggested the new game has been in the works for a long time and will be the first game in franchise history to have been developed over a four-year period. This lies in stark contrast to 2023’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, which was reportedly made in just 18 months.
If this year’s game is indeed a Black Ops title, it will be the sixth entry in the series since it debuted in 2010. The Black Ops franchise within Call of Duty has become one of the most popular of all, and lucrative, too. Dave Anthony, the director of the first two Black Ops games, recently discussed how he made “incredible amounts of money” during his career.
In terms of returning characters, it’s rumored that Adler is coming back, but that’s all we know so far. The Black Ops series is known for featuring real-life people, like Ronald Reagan (Black Ops Cold War) and Robert McNamara (Black Ops 1), so it wouldn’t be surprising to see real-life military and political leaders from the Gulf War era appear in the new game.
Who’s making CoD 2024?
A report from Insider Gaming said Raven Software is developing the game’s campaign, with Treyarch–the creator of the Black Ops series–handling multiplayer and Zombies. Activision is known to recruit teams from across its entire network of Call of Duty studios to contribute to each year’s new release in some fashion, and that formula is expected to continue this year.
What are the new features in CoD 2024?
This year’s game hasn’t been announced yet, so there are only rumors to go on for now. But Insider Gaming reported that this year’s Call of Duty game will bring back the open-world-style missions from Modern Warfare III. These were not very well-received in that game, but the report said a key difference is that the new game was made “from the ground up” with these missions in mind.
The report said players and their squads will move through a map that is “more akin to that of Far Cry,” and that players can jump into vehicles to zip around and even use a fast-travel system to get around quickly. In addition to open-world-style missions, the new Black Ops game will also have the more traditional and linear missions that Call of Duty is known for, the report said.
Hades 2 – Selene Boons And Path Of Stars Guide
Hades 2 has several Olympians who are ready to aid you in battle. The Goddess of the Moon, however, has her own mechanics that are quite unlike what you’ve come to expect from her fellow deities. Here’s our guide on the best Selene boons in Hades 2.
Hades 2 Selene boons guide: The Path of Stars and the best hexes from Selene
Selene, the Goddess of the Moon, introduces a nifty concept when in comes to choosing her blessings. It’s almost akin to “Calls” from the first game.
Where to find Selene
While Artemis and Primordial Chaos encounters tend to be even more random, Selene is similar to the other Olympians. She has her own sigil (i.e. crescent moon), which appears on doorways/exits. You’ll know when the next chamber leads to her reward.
Selene Keepsake: Moon Beam
Don’t forget to give Selene a Nectar gift. This nets you the Moon Beam accessory. When equipped you gain a +1 upgrade for your chosen hex via the Path of Stars. You can learn about the other items in our Keepsakes guide.
How to use Selene’s hexes
The big difference when it comes to Hades 2 Selene boons, compared to what you gain from other Olympians, is that the hex from Selene is more of a “super” ability. Here’s a quick summary:
- The first time you pick up a Selene boon, you get to choose from three potential options. Every subsequent sigil from that run grants an upgrade for that ability via the Path of Stars (more on this later).
- These hexes also have corresponding upgrade points the moment you choose them, as denoted by a symbol with the phases of the moon:
- Crescent Moon – No points.
- Half Moon – +1 point.
- Full Moon – +2 points.
- Hex abilities can only be activated once you’ve spent the required amount of magick during an encounter. This is also reset upon entering another room.
- For example: Twilight Curse requires 140 magick, which means you have to keep using omega abilities until you’ve spent that amount. This is the only time Twilight Curse can be used in battle.
- Needless to say, you need boons, builds, and Arcana Cards that help with mana regeneration.
List of Selene boons and which ones are the best
Her are the hexes that you can obtain from Selene in Hades 2:
- Phase Shift – Make everything else move 80% slower for five seconds; 150 magick.
- Twilight Curse – Your hex launches a seeking projectile that inflicts morph on up to 10 susceptible foes (i.e. turn them into sheep); 140 magick.
- Lunar Ray – Continuously fire a beam dealing up to 1,200 damage over three seconds; 120 magick.
- Wolf Howl – Jump up and crash down an area to deal 200 damage; 80 magick.
- Moon Water – Restore +25 HP; there are three charges, which are reset when you drink from a fountain; 70 magick.
- Night Bloom – Raise a random foe that has already been slain during the current encounter, making them fight alongside you for 12 seconds; 100 magick.
- Total Eclipse – Blast the target area for 1,000 damage after four seconds; 200 magick.
- Dark Side – Transform into a being impervious to all damage and has new abilities (lasts five seconds); 90 magick.
Among these options, we feel that Moon Water and Night Bloom are the two best Selene boons in Hades 2. The former is great for healing and keeping Melinoe in tip-top condition. That’s a total of +75 HP in between healing fountains. The latter can revive a stronger opponent which, in turn, ends up taking out other hostiles. Sadly, it can be a bit iffy if it revives a weaker foe.
The Path of Stars: Is it worth upgrading your Selene hex
Each Selene hex you pick has its own upgrade tree called the Path of Stars. As cited earlier, when choosing an ability, you receive upgrade points depending on the moon symbol. You then earn more points as you progress further into your current run and interact with additional Selene sigils.
The common upgrades in the skill tree grant basic benefits, such as slightly increased damage or reduced magick requirement. Rare and epic variants, meanwhile, provide more notable buffs, such as making your zombified allies explode or creating another Moon Blast explosion.
Sadly, we feel that these upgrades aren’t worth your while, unless you’re really focusing on magick-based/hex-based runs. Moon Water remains a great option, though, if you can get additional upgrades early. However, if it takes you a while to find your next Selene sigil, you’re probably better off prioritizing blessings from other Olympians.
That does it for our Hades 2 Selene boons guide. If you’re keen on learning about the powers given by the Olympians, you can check our best boons/skills guide.
Hades 2 stars Melinoe, the Princess of the Underworld. This roguelike game promises challenging encounters as you keep retrying until you can have the perfect run. If you want more tips and tactics, you can head over to our guides hub.
Hades 2 – Artemis Boons Guide
Hades 2 takes you on multiple treks where you meet several Olympian gods. One of them, however, is a bit hard to catch. Thankfully, if you manage to find her, you can make use of her amazing perks. Here’s our guide on the best Artemis boons in Hades 2.
Hades 2: Artemis boons guide – Where to find Artemis and what are the best skills
Artemis is quite unlike her fellow Olympians. She does not have her own sigil/symbol, and you won’t be able to predict when she’ll show up. Still, her crit-focused abilities are worthwhile options in your runs.
Artemis random encounters
Artemis in Hades 2 tends to appear in dungeon rooms without boss encounters (i.e. main bosses or sub-bosses). The chance is completely random, but you’ll know she’s there whenever the screen flashes green and you get this notification: “The Hunt Is On!”
As usual, enemies will spawn, but Artemis will aid you during the fight. She’ll fire arrows that deal +3,000 damage, instantly slaying most foes. You’ll want to kite enemies to the outline of her projectile to make sure that she hits them.
Artemis Keepsake: White Antler
At the end of these special encounters, Artemis will greet you. Apart from an Artemis boon that you can obtain when you talk to her, you also receive the reward in that chamber.
Likewise, don’t forget to give a Nectar gift to Artemis to increase your relationship with her. The first gift she receives nets you the White Antler accessory, which grants +20% critical hit chance while you’re at 30% HP or below. You can learn about other items in our Keepsakes guide.
List of Artemis boons and which ones to choose
If we’re talking about the best Artemis boons in Hades 2, we should consider that we can’t always rely on her to show up in every run. Therefore, her abilities are only meant to complement the build that you’re planning, as well as the weapon/aspect you have equipped.
- Support Fire – Hitting with attacks or specials causes seeking arrows to fly out.
- Easy Shot – A piercing arrow flies toward any foe damaged by your cast.
- Lethal Snare – Foes in your casts may take critical damage from your attacks.
- First Blood – Foes with at least 80% HP or armor may take critical damage.
- Silver Streak – After you dash, your omega abilities deal more damage for two seconds.
- Death Warrant – A random enemy occasionally becomes marked; if they take critical damage, the mark is reset.
- Pressure Points – Any damage you deal might be a critical (i.e. low chance).
Among these, we suggest taking Support Fire and Pressure Points if you’re using the Sister Blades (i.e. dual daggers), or Olympian powers that can hit multiple times. Although Pressure Points has a low chance of triggering a critical hit, you’re likely to land one due to the sheer number of hits you land. Lastly, Death Warrant is a good damage buff for bosses, assuming the mark doesn’t get applied to the mobs that they summon.
That does it for our Hades 2 Artemis boons guide. If you want to learn about the other abilities, you can check our best boons/skills guide.
Hades 2 stars Melinoe, the Princess of the Underworld. This roguelike game promises challenging encounters as you keep retrying until you can have the perfect run. If you want more tips and tactics, you can head over to our guides hub.
Where Is Xur Today? (May 10-14) Destiny 2 Exotic Items And Xur Location Guide
Things are heating up in Destiny 2 before The Final Shape expansion arrives, and with new PvP maps being added to the game this week, it’s time to do some shopping. Everyone’s favorite intergalactic arms dealer has arrived, just in time for you to do some retail therapy before you enter the Crucible. Here’s where you can find Xur this week and what he has for sale.
This week you can find Xur in The Tower, inside the Hangar. For his weapon, Xur is offering Lord of Wolves. Hunters can pick up Liar’s Handshake; Titans can grab ACD/0 Feedback Fence; and Warlocks can buy Aeon Soul.
Xur Location
Spawn in using the Courtyard transmat zone in the Tower to find Xur this week. Head left and down the stairs to enter the Hangar section, then hang another left. Make your way to the north end of the area and look for a staircase that will take you onto a catwalk, where Xur is waiting.

Exotic Armor
Liar’s Handshake (Exotic Hunter gauntlets)
The first of several gauntlets that Xur is offering this weekend, Liar’s Handshake works well with Arc-energy builds. Cross Counter gives you an extremely powerful counterpunch that also heals you, and can be used after you land an Arc melee blow or find yourself on the receiving end of a melee attack. Pair this with a shotgun that has the One-Two Punch perk and you’ll deliver some powerful haymakers. Mobility is pretty good on this Exotic so you can close the gap, but the more crucial stats of resilience, recovery, and strength range from low to average at best.
- Mobility: 26
- Resilience: 7
- Recovery: 2
- Discipline: 18
- Intellect: 2
- Strength: 12
- Total: 67
ACD/O Feedback Fence (Exotic Titan gauntlets)
A classic and fun Exotic, ACD/0 Feedback Fence focuses on absorbing damage and unleashing power with all of that stored kinetic energy. When the Fury Conductors perk is activated, your Titan will emit a burst of powerful Arc energy that applies a Jolt debuff to your targets, depending on the number of stacks consumed. This Exotic has excellent resilience to help you absorb those blows, but almost everything else is extremely low here. Discipline is also high, but you’ll need to seriously focus on strength to get the most out of this Exotic if you grab this week’s roll.
- Mobility: 2
- Resilience: 30
- Recovery: 2
- Discipline: 23
- Intellect: 7
- Strength: 2
- Total: 66
Aeon Soul (Exotic Warlock gauntlets)
A flexible Exotic, Aeon Soul allows you to use one of several unique mods. These vary in function, but the Sect of Force mod is very nice for when you’re doing activities that are full of pesky Champions. With this mod, you and your fireteam can deal extra damage to those challenging enemies. You’d usually want a balanced roll on this Exotic given its utilitarian nature, but the stats here favor strength, mobility, and recovery, while resilience, discipline, and intellect lean toward the low end of the spectrum. Unless you haven’t got it in your collection, feel free to give it a pass.
- Mobility: 17
- Resilience: 4
- Recovery: 15
- Discipline: 2
- Intellect: 10
- Strength: 22
- Total: 70
Exotic Weapons
Lord of Wolves (Exotic shotgun)
Even though it has been tweaked and nerfed several times, Lord of Wolves is still a heck of a lot of fun to use. This Solar-energy shotgun functions like a pulse rifle and belches out a burst of firepower that can melt through enemies. If you feel like burning through ammo, you can even switch to a full-auto mode and melt opponents with this classic Exotic.
- Shrapnel Launcher
- Chambered Compensator
- Extended Mag
- Release the Wolves
- Composite Stock
Hawkmoon (Exotic hand cannon)
Hawkmoon is fairly average this week, but Quickdraw is a nice perk for those high-noon showdowns. This allows you to draw it quite quickly, a useful skill when you run out of ammo while using one of your other weapons and you don’t want to break your flow in combat.
- Paracausal Shot
- Polygonal Rifling
- Alloy Magazine
- Quickdraw
- Heavy Grip

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.
Fallout 4’s First Patch Since Next-Gen Update Will Add New Graphics And Performance Settings
Hot on the heels of its next-gen update, Fallout 4 will receive another update May 13 for all platforms that will introduce “new options for graphics and performance settings as well as further fixes and improvements,” Bethesda Game Studios has announced.
No further details, or patch notes, have been shared just yet, but Fallout 4’s long-awaited next-gen update arrived on April 25 and left a lot to be desired, breaking mods and not quite delivering the graphical and performance improvements fans had hoped for. As broken down by Digital Foundry, the Xbox Series X|S version of Fallout 4 post next-gen update seemed to be in a particularly bad place, with no difference between its performance and graphics modes and a buggy implementation of ultrawide monitor support for PC.

The update was so poorly received, mods on PC that removed the update entirely saw a surge in popularity. There was also a bug preventing players on PlayStation who had claimed the game as part of PS Plus from receiving the update, something Bethesda did eventually fix.
With any luck, the upcoming update will address many of the lingering issues fans have with the next-gen update, as Fallout 4, and the franchise in general, is having a major pop-culture moment. Player-counts across the Fallout franchise have been on the rise following the release of Amazon Prime’s Fallout TV show, with more than 1 million players recently logging in to Fallout 76 in a single day and breaking its previous concurrent player count records on Steam. Meanwhile, the Fallout show has been seen by more than 65 million viewers and renewed for a second season.
Bethesda Game Studios game director Todd Howard recently teased two unannounced Fallout projects and said he doesn’t regret not having a new game to go alongside the show, instead pointing people towards Fallout 76.

Save 55% On This Data Privacy Service That Deletes Your Personal Information From The Internet
One of the best ways to keep yourself safe online is by limiting how much personal information you share. That includes everything from what you post on social media to the account information you include when signing up for a new service. Manually deleting unnecessary personal information is a solid strategy, but it can be difficult to remember just where all that data is hiding, and things can slip through the cracks for even the most avid data-privacy aficionado.
Luckily, the folks who made the popular Surfshark VPN have created a handy service called Incogni that searches out and deletes your lingering online personal data. The service cross-references your personal information against a list that includes “hundreds of data brokers and people search websites,” and deletes your information from those databases if it finds a match. Doing so limits who can access and sell your personal information, and having your data saved in fewer places lowers your risk of identity theft in the event of a data breach.
Normally, Incogni costs $13/month, but for a limited time, GameSpot readers can get 55% off a full year of service by using the promo code GAMESPOT55 at checkout. Anyone in the US, UK, Canada, EU, and Switzerland are eligible for the deal.
With the 55% discount code, your monthly cost equates to just $6.49 per month, billed as a one-time payment of $77.88. Incogni offers a full 30-day money-back guarantee on all subscriptions, so you can get a full refund if you decide you don’t like the service as long as you cancel within 30 days of signing up. After your promotional 12-month period is over, your account will roll over to the full $156/year plan unless you cancel before it renews. You can also swap over to the $13/month subscription if you want to keep the service but prefer smaller monthly payments instead.
