Assassin’s Creed Mirage Is Coming To iPhone And iPad In June
Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will come to iPhone and iPad devices on June 6. In order to play it, the phone model must be an iPhone 15 Pro powered by the A17 Pro chip. iPads with the M1 chip or later can also play it.
These versions of Assassin’s Creed Mirage were developed by Ubisoft Sofia and aim to offer the same experience as the console version. They also support touch controls. Cross-progression and cross-save are available as well through Ubisoft Connect and players can transfer their progress across all platforms, including console and PC.

Ubisoft still has some ideas on how to expand on the game’s main protagonist, Basim, and his story even further. However, there are still no plans for additional DLC for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Diablo 4 Patch Significantly Reduces Cost Of Transmuting Masterwork Materials
Blizzard is continuing to refine elements of its massive Loot Reborn patch for Diablo 4, which dropped last week and fundamentally overhauled some of the game’s core systems. The latest hotfix for the game only introduces one major change, but it will be a welcome one for anyone working on Masterworking their items, with the gold cost of transmutation dramatically reduced.
Masterworking is a new system added in the Loot Reborn patch which gives players a new way to upgrade their most powerful items, as well as introducing a new endgame dungeon to farm for materials. Players can take on the Pit to earn crafting materials Obducite, Ingolith, and Neathiron, which are used to unlock successively higher ranks of masterwork.

While you have to progress through the Pit to unlock the rarer materials–with Ingolith only dropping between Tier 31 and Tier 60 of the dungeon, and Neathiron from Tier 61 up–players can transmute extra high-level materials to one of lower rarity at the Alchemist.
The latest patch dramatically reduces the gold cost of this process, with the most expensive transmutation, the Large Ingolith Cache, reduced from 6,000,000 gold to just 60,000. The other caches have seen similar reductions, with the cheapest Small Obducite Cache starting at just 1000 gold. The other material costs have remained unchanged, with one Neathiron still transmuting to three Ingolith, and one Ingolith transmuting to three Obducite.
The newest patch also introduces “various performance and stability improvements,” according to the patch notes, which can be read in full below.
The main Diablo 4 Loot Reborn patch has been well-received by players, which is likely linked to Blizzard’s decision to playtest the patch using a PTR before releasing it to the public. While some elements may not have received universal praise, like a change to the Salvage All Items feature which may have seen players accidentally getting rid of rare and valuable items, Diablo fans are generally on board with the direction the latest game is taking.
Diablo 4 is in line for its first major expansion later this year, Vessel of Hatred, which Blizzard teased with imagery of a lush, jungle-like setting.

Deadpool And Wolverine Has Strongest Day-One Ticket Pre-Sales In Franchise History At Fandango
Deadpool and Wolverine tickets went on sale on May 20, and they sold very well at Fandango. The ticket-seller reported that first-day pre-sales for Deadpool and Wolverine are the site’s biggest of 2024 so far. Not only that, but Deadpool and Wolverine first-day ticket sales at Fandango are highest in franchise history.
To celebrate the achievement, Fandango released a new image of Deadpool and Wolverine showing Deadpool doing his shocked face and Wolverine standing alongside him looking buff.
You can order tickets for Deadpool and Wolverine now through Fandango. The movie hits theaters on July 26, and it is Marvel’s one and only film coming to cinemas until 2025.
In addition to the ticket pre-sale accomplishment, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman suited up for a Heineken beer ad to promote the film and the drink. In the silly ad, Deadpool steals some of Wolverine’s adamantium to create a new Heineken brew known as Heineken Silver. Released in April, Heineken Silver is a new version of the iconic beer that’s brewed at -1°C to help it have a better taste, apparently.
Deadpool and Wolverine is the first new Deadpool film since Deadpool 2 released in 2018, prior to Disney buying the Deadpool franchise. Some wondered and worried that Disney might try to tone things down, but that is not the case. In fact, Reynolds recently talked about how he was surprised with how much he was able to get away with in Deadpool and Wolverine as it relates to the film’s R rating.
“I hope it doesn’t sound condescending, I’m really proud of [Disney and Marvel] for doing this,” Reynolds said. “I think it’s a huge step for them. I mean it adds a whole other color to this kaleidoscopic wheel that is that company and the different people that they have been entertaining for forever so I was surprised though that they let us go… hard R.”
Nintendo Buys Hogwarts Legacy, Mortal Kombat Port Studio Ahead Of Switch 2 Launch
Nintendo has announced that it is buying Shiver Entertainment, the Miami-based game studio known for the Switch ports of Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1. The studio was previously owned by Embracer.
“Nintendo will acquire 100% of the outstanding shares of Shiver and make it a wholly owned subsidiary. By welcoming Shiver’s experienced and accomplished development team, Nintendo aims to secure high-level resources for porting and developing software titles,” Nintendo said.
The company added that Shiver’s focus will “remain the same” after joining Nintendo, and that is to continue porting and developing games for multiple platforms, including Switch.
Nintendo did not specify a purchase price for Shiver. The company said the buyout will have “only a minor effect” on Nintendo’s business results for the fiscal year.
Shiver’s CEO is John Schappert, who was the founder of EA Tiburon, the game development giant known for the Madden and NCAA Football franchises. He later rose higher at EA all the way up to SVP of Worldwide Studios at EA before joining Xbox and then returning to EA.
Nintendo rarely acquires companies. The company’s last big buyout before this was the purchase of longtime collaborator SRD in 2022. In 2021, Nintendo purchased another longtime collaborator, Next Level Games.
The move to buy Shiver comes ahead of the expected 2025 release of the Switch 2, or whatever the system ends up being called.
As for Embracer, the Swedish gaming group is selling franchises and studios as part of a cost-cutting and restructuring effort, and it seems Shiver was part of that.
Hellblade 2 Review Roundup: Here’s What The Critics Think
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, the long-awaited sequel to Ninja Theory’s 2017 action-adventure game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, is out now on Xbox and PC. Reviews are online, too, painting a picture of the game’s critical reception from critics.
Here at GameSpot, our Hellblade II review scored the game a 6/10. Reviewer Jessica Cogswell wrote, “With too much focus on cinematics and too little on creating an experience that is engaging, Senua’s Saga fails to reach the same highs as its predecessor–even if it does look stunning whilst trying.”

Now Playing: Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II – Official Launch Trailer (ft. ‘Animal Soul’ by AURORA)
Hellblade II is exclusive on console to Xbox Series X|S thanks to Microsoft owning developer Ninja Theory and the game franchise. The game is available now on Game Pass for Xbox and PC, or it can be purchased outright for $50 USD. While Microsoft is bringing some of its first-party games to rival platforms, like PlayStation 5, Hellblade II has not been confirmed for Sony’s system.

How long to beat Hellblade 2
Though its visual fidelity takes a big leap forward with arguably the best motion-capture work in video game history, the total time commitment to Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is about the same as the first game. That means you’ll be able to complete it in roughly 5-8 hours on a normal playthrough. The game is very linear with only a few diversions that may take you off your path, including two types of lore-heavy collectibles. If you decide to go for all of those, expect to come in at the high end of that estimate, but it’s likely you won’t exceed it.

The only other thing that may extend your time with the game is a feature that unlocks once you complete the game for the first time. If you consider this a spoiler, just skip this next part.
Still here? Okay then. Once you beat Hellblade 2, you’ll unlock alternate narrators, meaning the story can be experienced with other characters narrating it. The game still plays out in the same way otherwise, but you’ll gain new perspectives from other characters in the story, which is a worthwhile touch in my experience.

Hellblade 2 is out now on Xbox and PC. A PlayStation release has not yet been announced, but it seems possible given Xbox’s recent shift in strategy.
