Grab A Pair Of Sony Bluetooth Earbuds For Only $59 At Walmart
Over at Walmart, you can pick up a pair of popular Sony Bluetooth earbuds at a steep discount. Available for $59 (normally $100), the Sony WF-C500 earbuds offer impressive audio quality and a solid design for the price.
This is great value for money, as the WF-C500 offers great audio, a comfortable fit, and they’re moisture-resistant so they can work nicely as a jogging or gym headset. For battery life, there’s up to 10 hours from a full charge, and you can quick-charge these for around 10 minutes to get an hour of listening time. With the included charge case, you can increase the battery life to 20 hours.
You can also fine-tune the sound further, with Sony’s smartphone app. There are some compromises here, as these earbuds don’t have active noise cancellation.. But overall, this is a pretty good set of earbuds from a popular brand that has earned a positive reputation for its audio hardware.
For another option, you can also check out the Samsung Galaxy Buds. Normally $149, these are on sale for $69 right now. Similar to the Sony set, these have great sound, a decent battery life, and will fit snugly in your ears. The big difference? These earbuds have active noise-canceling tech that can be activated with a single tap.
These particular Sony and Samsung earbuds are good alternatives to Apple’s AirPods, which are on sale at Amazon for $89 (was $129).
If you’re a PC or PlayStation gamer, you should also check out Sony’s high-end Inzone Buds, which are currently on sale for over $20 off at Amazon.

Marvel Rivals Devs Explain The Challenges Of Creating Third-Person Comic-Book Action
Marvel Rivals is inspired by Overwatch, but one area where the game stands out is in its decision to utilize a third-person perspective as opposed to the first-person viewpoint of Blizzard’s hero shooter. Why third-person? According to NetEase Games, using a “third-person shooter” foundation as its combat core allows for players to fully embody the superheroes and villains they’re playing as, especially when combat isn’t limited to guns.
Executing ranged and melee attacks using quick targeting necessitated the use of a third-person viewpoint and was decided early on in the development of Marvel Rivals. At the same time, NetEase ran into a few challenges when adopting this system, as Marvel characters come in a wide range of shapes and sizes.

“We’ve been playing around with camera rules, tweaking positions, adjusting FOV (field of view), and fine-tuning hero performances to make sure they all shine,” NetEase wrote in a developer diary on the Marvel Rivals Discord. “Another challenge is encouraging players to switch from FPS to TPS. If you’re used to FPS games, leaping into our TPS realm might feel a bit like going into a whole new world!”
NetEase says players familiar with FPS games will need to adjust to these differences, but it’s aiming to make the transition as smooth as possible. The Marvel Rivals closed alpha is scheduled to launch this month, and its roster will include Black Panther, Spider-Man, Magneto, Scarlet Witch, and several other characters for this early taste of the game. NetEase also recently released a new trailer showing off Loki’s trickster skills in combat.
Marvel Rivals will be a free-to-play game when it launches on PC, but a final release date has yet to be announced.
Destiny 2 Luna’s Howl Guide – How To Get It, Curated Roll, And God Roll
The last of Destiny 2: Into the Light‘s Brave arsenal is finally unlocked, bringing two last fan-favorite weapons back into players’ hands. Of all of them, Luna’s Howl might be the most prestigious, so it makes sense that it was left for last. The revised hand cannon could be almost as ravenous a predator of the Crucible as the original version, which was sunset way back with the Beyond Light expansion.
Like the other Brave arsenal weapons, you’ll need to knock down a quest in order to unlock the ability to farm Luna’s Howl reliably in Onslaught. It doesn’t take much work, though, especially if you’ve got an hour or two to spend clearing waves of enemies. Luna’s Howl has some pretty phenomenal potential rolls, though, making it a great gun to farm to take into Iron Banner and the Crucible. Here’s everything you need to know about Luna’s Howl, including which god rolls to chase.
How To Unlock Luna’s Howl
As with the other weapons in the Brave arsenal released in Into the Light, you can get Luna’s Howl by completing quests in the Hall of Champions and taking part in the new Onslaught activity. As with the other weapons, you’ll first need to complete the Feats of Strength quest with Lord Shaxx in order to unlock the full potential of the Hall of Champions. That also means knocking out the first weapon-specific quest you can pick up from Shaxx’s right-hand bot, Arcite 99-40, called Stranger Danger.
With Feats of Strength done, you’re now able to pick up additional weapon quests from Arcite that cover all the available Brave arsenal weapons. This week unlocks the last of them, making the Luna’s Howl quest available to grab immediately.
Complete Arcite’s Howl at the Moon quest will unlock Luna’s Howl. Like the other weapon quests, it has two different means of completing it:
- Defeat enemies with precision damage using a hand cannon anywhere in the system, with bonus progress for rapid final blows in Onslaught, or:
- Defeat 50 Guardians using a hand cannon.
Any hand cannon will do for these steps, although the fastest way to unlock Luna’s Howl is probably doing a few rounds of Onslaught–we knocked out the precision kill requirement in about 15 waves.
Once you’ve completed the quest, you can visit the holographic statue of Lord Shaxx that’s holding the gun to “attune” it. When you attune a weapon, you’ll receive it as a random reward from Onslaught activities and Trophies of Bravery chests much more often than normal. Use attunement to farm Onslaught and chase the rolls you want the most.
You’ll also get Bungie’s curated version of Luna’s Howl, which includes the perks Eye of the Storm and a reworked version of Magnificent Howl, the signature perk of the original version of this gun. That’s a pretty solid version of Luna’s Howl you can take right into the Crucible, if you’re so inclined.
Luna’s Howl Curated Perks
- Barrel: Smallbore
- +7 Stability, +7 Range
- Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
- +5 Range +10 Stability
- First Column: Eye of the Storm
- This weapon becomes more accurate and boosts handling as your health gets lower
- Second Column: Magnificent Howl
- The number of precision final blows before reloading affects the total rounds granted with increased range and damage. Precision final blows with Magnificent Howl active extend the effect for additional rounds.
- Origin Perk: Indomitability
- Kills with this weapon provide grenade energy if you’re using a Light subclass, or melee energy if you’re using a Dark subclass
Luna’s Howl God Rolls
With its re-release in the Brave arsenal, Luna’s Howl has seen some major changes to its available perks. It also fires faster than the original, which was a 180 RPM hand cannon–this one is a 140 RPM. Though Bungie has adjusted its signature perk, Magnificent Howl, to be a little less overpowered in the Crucible, it’s still an impressive PvP weapon. With Magnificent Howl active, the increase in damage and range you’ll receive can kill opponents in two quick headshots, making this thing exceedingly lethal against other players if you’re accurate and plan accordingly.
As for PvE, Luna’s Howl wasn’t originally conceived as a gun to take down rank-and-file aliens. That said, the new perk pool has some pretty good options, like Incandescent and Heal Clip, that make it a very viable choice.
Luna’s Howl PvP God Roll
- Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
- Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
- Rounds ricochet off hard surfaces
- +5 Range, +10 Stability
- First Perk: Heal Clip / Slideshot
- Heal Clip: Reloading after a final blow grants Cure to you and nearby allies
- Slideshot: Sliding partially reloads this weapon’s magazine and temporarily boosts range and stability
- Second Perk: Magnificent Howl / Desperate Measures
- Magnificent Howl: The number of precision final blows before reloading affects the total rounds granted with increased range and damage. Precision final blows with Magnificent Howl active extend the effect for additional rounds.
- Desperate Measures: Weapon final blows grant bonus damage. Melee and grenade final blows grant a larger bonus that can stack.
- Masterwork: Range
When it comes to the barrel, magazine, and Masterwork for Luna’s Howl, you want to squeeze out as much range as you can get, minimizing damage fall-off and allowing you to win fights from as far away as possible. For its perks, you have some choices based on how you play and what will serve you best. Magnificent Howl and Heal Clip both reward you for scoring kills and reloading afterward, with Heal Clip’s blast of Cure potentially making it easier for you to survive your next fight, hopefully with Magnificent Howl rounds now in your magazine. Alternatively, Slideshot gives you a way of boosting your shots so you’re more likely to actually win the first fight. Encore, too, is a solid choice, boosting your accuracy on any kill to hopefully help you land more precision blows.
As for Magnificent Howl itself, it’s a powerful perk you won’t find anywhere else, but it also requires skillful shooting and surviving long enough to reload the gun to take advantage of it. If that’s a lot of pressure, Desperate Measures at least can give you some bonus damage in more situations and without the need to be quite so accurate.
Luna’s Howl PvE God Roll
- Barrel: Smallbore / Corkscrew Rifling
- Smallbore: +7 Range, +7 Stability
- Corkscrew Rifling: +5 Range, +5 Stability, +5 Handling
- Magazine: Appended Mag
- Increases magazine size.
- First Perk: Heal Clip
- Reloading after a final blow grants Cure to you and nearby allies.
- Second Perk: Incandescent
- Defeating a target spreads Scorch to those nearby. More powerful combatants and opposing Guardians cause scorch in a larger radius.
- Masterwork: Range / Reload Speed
Magnificent Howl is a solid perk even in PvE, thanks to the ability to knock out lots of small enemies quickly and reload for a bunch of more powerful rounds, but that’s a boost to your primary weapon you probably don’t seriously need. More interesting and probably more useful is the Solar synergy you get from Heal Clip and Incandescent. Knocking out enemies with Incandescent spreads scorch, which can be great for burning down tons of enemies quickly, and Heal Clip gives you and your pals a burst of healing every time you reload. Use Appended Mag to make sure you’re finishing those final blows to scorch as many enemies as possible or Flared Magwell to speed up your reloads alongside repeated healing.

Lego Despicable Me 4 Sets Include Zany Minions And A Pretty Unsettling Gru Figure
Despicable Me 4 hits theaters on July 3, and a bunch of new Lego sets are now available ahead of its release. Some of these are fairly big builds inching close to 1,000 pieces, while others barely clock in over 100 pieces–so whether you’re a veteran builder or brand-new to Lego, you should have no problem finding something that fits your (or your kid’s) skill level. Keep in mind that some of these are already selling out at select retailers, so consider checking them out soon if you’re interested.
Here’s a look at the four Despicable Me 4 Lego sets up for grabs. These Despicable Me 4 sets are far from the only new Lego sets that launched on May 1. Lego also released an adorable Mood Cubes set based on Pixar’s Inside Out 2. Star Wars fans should also check out the new sets released ahead of Star Wars Day, including the Ultimate Collector Series TIE Interceptor.
$100
Piece together Gru’s quirky mansion with this large building set. Plenty of cool details and accessories are included with the set, including a red couch, fireplace, and rocket-style bedroom. Rounding out the package are six minifigures and buildable Minions.
$55
Snap together a posable Gru figure along with a bunch of Minions. This is essentially a piece of home décor, though both Gru and the Minions are posable, allowing you to rearrange them as you see fit. The Minion figures do a great job showing off their wide-range of expressions, while the Gru figure has an appropriately unsettling smile. The poor guy just has a hard time looking happy.
$40
This smaller set consists of less than 400 pieces, making it a great choice for new builders. It includes a 2-in-1 build that converts from a party bus to a party playset, with the side of the bus opening up to reveal a bunch of cool accessories inside.
$25
The smallest Lego set of the bunch includes four Minions, a small car toy, and heaps of accessories for them to hold. It’s also the cheapest at $25–though some retailers are already selling out, so move fast if you’re interested.
PlayStation Plus Free Games For May 2024 Revealed
PlayStation has revealed this month’s batch of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. All PS Plus members will be able to claim a quartet of freebies starting May 7: EA Sports FC 24, Ghostrunner 2, Tunic, and Destiny 2: Lightfall.
If you haven’t claimed April’s PlayStation Plus free games yet, make sure to do so before next Tuesday.
EA Sports FC 24 is a fairly recent game, as it was released in September 2023. EA’s first soccer game since it parted ways with FIFA, EA Sports FC 24 might have a new name but it’s still the same beautiful game. With a ton of licensed teams and leagues, and impressive technology powering the entire experience, this was a solid attempt from EA to establish a new franchise.
We’ve seen plenty of Zelda-like games over the years, and Tunic ranks up there with the best of them. A love letter to the 16-bit era of Zelda games, Tunic is challenging, charming, and full of wonder.
Ghostrunner 2 is another recent game arriving on PS Plus this month, and in case you missed it, this cyberpunk action game builds on the foundation of the first game to deliver more fast and furious action. High-stakes combat meets smooth parkour energy in this sequel, and once you find your groove, Ghostrunner 2 provides a riveting action experience.
Finally, Destiny 2: Lightfall rounds out the selection of new releases in May. Arriving a month before the release of Destiny 2’s next expansion, The Final Shape, Lightfall is the penultimate chapter in the Light and Darkness saga. It’s not the best showcase of Destiny 2, but it’s worth diving into so that you can earn some exclusive Exotic weapons, master the Strand subclass, and power up your Guardian before the final battle with the Witness.
PlayStation Plus free games for April 2024
Available May 7-June 3.
- EA Sports FC 24 (Available until June 17) – PS5, PS4
- Tunic – PS5, PS4
- Ghostrunner 2 – PS5

Starfield’s Biggest Update Ever Makes Getting Around Way Less Annoying
Bethesda has announced it will be releasing Starfield‘s biggest update since launch on May 15. Referred to by Bethesda as the May Update, the patch will include updated planet surface maps, new gameplay difficulty options, and new ship-building customization options, among other new features.
The announcement was made via a five-minute YouTube video uploaded to the Bethesda Softworks YouTube channel, featuring interviews with the game’s lead producer, Joe Mueller, art director Istvan Pely, and senior producer Tim Lamb.
“We’ve seen a lot of feedback online that players really want a lot more utility and detail in our surface maps,” Pely explained. “So we took what’s there, we blew it all up, and instead, now we have a whole new aesthetic to the surface maps where you can see the terrain, all the detail in the terrain–trees, rocks, all the structures in the loaded zone. It’s a lot easier to navigate.”
Cities will also become easier to navigate post-update, Pely shared, revealing that players will now be able to see icons representing different points of interest when using their scanner to navigate on-foot. Each icon functions as a fast-travel point, allowing players to make use of the game’s fast-travel system without having to navigate through multiple map menus.
As for gameplay itself, the May Update will introduce a multitude of new options to allow players to customize their gameplay experience. When the update goes live, players will be able to increase the amount of credits vendors have on them, reducing the need for players to visit multiple vendors to fully offload their loot. The player’s carry weight capacity and ship cargo capacity can also be tweaked at any time via the player’s inventory.
Survival features–like the need for food and effects of environmental hazards–will also be customizable once the update is released, and players will gain access to new combat difficulty settings, allowing them to tweak the difficulty of both space combat and groundside battles. For players who are particularly hungry for a challenge, a new difficulty level has been added: If “Very Hard” mode isn’t hard enough, players can try out the new “Extreme” mode instead.
Ship-building is also getting some love in this update, allowing players to decorate their ships’ interiors in a manner that’s much closer to the way outpost and player home decoration works. There are also more openings for doorways, and a new feature that allows players to place empty hab modules in their ship and decorate them from scratch.
Veteran players who have finished the game multiple times will likely be happy to hear about the May Update’s New Game Plus respeccing feature, which will give players entering the Unity the option to change both their physical appearance and their character’s Traits.
Lastly, the May Update also features new performance options for players who are traversing the galaxy via an Xbox Series X. Series X players will now be able to choose between 30fps 40fps, 60fps, or an uncapped frame rate on Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) displays. Those without a VRR display will be able to select either 30fps or 60fps. Series X players will also be able to prioritize gameplay performance over visual performance, and vice versa.
Starfield’s May Update goes live on May 15. For more information, check out Bethesda’s May Update blog post.
Apex Legends Trailer Reveals Season 21’s Dimension-Hopping New Legend
Apex Legends Season 20: Breakout is nearing its end, and today, developer Respawn Entertainment gave players a taste of what’s coming in Season 21 via a new episode of Stories From The Outlands, entitled Based On A True Story. The episode introduces players to Season 21’s debut Legend, a portal-hopping anomaly who goes by the name Alter.
Narrated by Alter herself, Based On A True Story seems to imply that Alter is not from the same dimension as the other Legends (save for Wraith, who is also from another dimension). The episode reveals that Alter’s parents are dead–and may have been murdered–but verifiable information is sparse in terms of her origins, and she seems to revel in the fact that she’s an enigma–and a potentially unreliable narrator.

Throughout the episode, Alter reveals she’s a highly skilled fighter, and has been trained as an assassin by a mysterious organization. Physically, she resembles a sort of cyberpunk tiefling, complete with horn-like antennae on her head and a Doc Ock-esque mechanical arm sprouting out of her lower back like a tail. Though she does appear to be mostly human, her voice has a bit of an inorganic tone to it, similar to the voices of robotic Legends like Ash, Pathfinder, and Revenant.
Alter never gives viewers a clear answer regarding her identity, but she does reveal that she has spent time living in a manner similar to Bloodhound.
“For years, I was a hunter of the old ways,” she declares, referencing Bloodhound’s episode of Stories From The Outlands. “Also, I had a bird.”
But a fondness for avian familiars isn’t the only similarity she shares with some of Apex’s other Legends. She’s seen entering and exiting portals that have the appearance of shattered glass–an interesting detail, especially given the fact that Wraith entered this dimension by jumping through shattered glass, as seen in her own episode of Stories From The Outlands.
“Who am I? I’m the one who’s there at the end,” Alter declares in the final seconds of the trailer, as she drops a photo of fellow Legend Horizon (and her son, Newton) onto the ground. “Or am I?”
Definitive answers regarding Alter’s origins are nowhere to be found in this episode of Stories From The Outlands, but the animated short seems imply that she may be an amalgamation of various pre-existing Legends, and that she has some sort of connection to Horizon (and possibly Bloodhound, Wraith, and even Revenant as well). Still, Based On A True Story does reveal one verifiable fact about Alter: She’s fluent in Cantonese, which she can be heard speaking near the episode’s midpoint.
As for the rest of Alter’s background, it seems Apex Legends players will have to wait until Season 21: Upheaval goes live to get the full story.
