The showrunner for Season 2 is David Wiener (Flesh and Bone, Fear the Walking Dead), who took over from Season 1 co-showrunners Kyle Killen and Stephen Kane.

In addition to Master Chief, Cortana, and Halsey, Season 2 adds new cast members such as The Vampire Diaries star Joseph Morgan as James Ackerson. The character is described as a “formidable intelligence operative who has spent his career climbing the ranks of the Office of Naval Intelligence…”

Additionally, Cristina Rodlo (Too Old to Die Young) joins Halo as Talia Perez, a linguistics expert working for the UNSC Marine Corps’ communications unit.

The Halo TV show is produced by Showtime in partnership with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and developer 343. Spielberg is also an executive producer on the series, as are Kiki Wolfkill, Frank O’Connor, Bonnie Ross from 343. Ross is leaving 343 Industries and Microsoft altogether as part of a wider managerial shakeup at 343.
