Hollow knight Silksong Is Coming To PS4 And PS5
Hollow Knight Silksong, the highly-anticipated sequel to Hollow Knight is coming to PS4 and PS5. Team Cherry’s upcoming game was previously announced during a Xbox & Bethesda showcase and only confirmed for Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
With Sony’s announcement, Hollow Knight Silksong will now pretty much be available on all major gaming platforms. For Xbox Game Pass subscribers, Hollow Knight Silksong is also a day-one release.
There is no concrete release date announced yet. Players have been waiting for Hollow Knight Silksong for quite a while. The sequel was first announced in 2019, and it took until the Xbox & Bethesda showcase to get an official confirmation of some sort of release date, vague though it may be.
Hollow Knight is an acclaimed indie metroidvania, and Silksong follows the journey of an unplayable NPC in the original–Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest.

A Quiet Place: Day One Trailer Is Terrifying, Shows Aliens Coming To Earth
Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel to the spooky series created by John Krasinski. Day One follows characters played by Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o and Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn as they experience the day the aliens came to Earth and the trials and turmoil that immediately followed in New York City.
A Quiet Place: Part II began with an unsettling flashback of the day the aliens came to Earth, but Day One is entirely about the arrival of the evil creatures. For anyone just catching up, the aliens in the A Quiet Place series are blind but have extremely good hearing, prompting people to do whatever they can to stay quiet. In Day One, people are only just learning this, with deadly results.
Djimon Hounsou, who appeared in A Quiet Place: Part II, also stars in Day One. There are multiple sequences with Nyong’o and her little cat in the trailer, and we can only hope the little fuzzball survives.
Day One releases in theaters on June 28. It’s directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig), after the first two were directed by John Krasinski. In addition to the prequel, A Quiet Place 3 is coming in 2025, but it’s unknown if Krasinski will come back to direct.
Outside of the film franchise, there is a Quiet Place video game in the works, but it has been a very long time since we’ve heard anything about it.
Disney+ And Hulu Team Up With Max In New Streaming Bundle
Earlier this year, Disney’s ESPN, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Fox announced plans to launch a new sports streaming service later this year. And that was just the beginning for Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery. Both companies have jointly announced that a new streaming bundle is on the way that will feature Disney+, Hulu, and Max.
The announcement touts that this streaming bundle will feature programming from several of both companies’ most prominent brands including “ABC, CNN, DC, Discovery, Disney, Food Network, FX, HBO, HGTV, Hulu, Marvel, Pixar, Searchlight, Warner Bros., and many more.”
CNBC is reporting that Disney will be the distributer of this bundle, and pay Warner Bros. Discovery a percentage of the subscription fees. A price for the new bundle hasn’t been revealed, but it will have options for ad-free streaming and a lower price for all three services with ad-supported plans. ESPN+ will not be included with the bundle.
“On the heels of the very successful launch of Hulu on Disney+, this new bundle with Max will offer subscribers even more choice and value,” said Disney Direct to Consumer President Joe Earley in a statement. “This incredible new partnership puts subscribers first, giving them access to blockbuster films, originals, and three massive libraries featuring the very best brands and entertainment in streaming today.”
“This new offering delivers for consumers the greatest collection of entertainment for the best value in streaming, and will help drive incremental subscribers and much stronger retention,” added WBD CEO and President, Global Streaming JB Perrette. “Offering this unprecedented entertainment value for fans across all the complimentary genres these three services offer, presents a powerful new roadmap for the future of the industry.”
The new bundle is expected to launch this summer through Disney. Disney+’s current bundle options can be found here.
WWE Monday Night Raw Will Stay On USA Through The End of 2024
In January, WWE reached a $5 billion dollar deal with Netflix to bring Monday Night Raw to the biggest streaming platform in the world in January 2025. That contract calls for WWE to receive $500 million a year, with opt out and extension clauses worked into the deal. The one major problem with the new arrangement is that WWE’s Raw deal with USA was up in September, potentially leaving the company’s flagship show without a home for months.
Via Deadline, that problem has now been solved. Monday Night Raw is staying on USA through the end of 2024, which should allow WWE to have a seamless transition for Raw’s upcoming run on Netflix. Per the report, WWE will receive $25 million for extending the deal a few months with USA.
Despite Raw’s pending departure, USA isn’t out of the WWE business in 2025. Smackdown is moving back to USA in October after its stint on Fox. That deal is worth $1.4 billion for WWE across five years. Additionally, WWE’s developmental brand, NXT, will be moving to The CW in October.
Internationally, Netflix will also be the home of WWE’s Premium Live Events. But in the United States, Peacock remains the streaming home for WWE’s PLEs, as well as the company’s decades of wrestling programs.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Is Nintendo’s Best-Selling Game Of All Time, With One Caveat
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has passed a new milestone, as it is now Nintendo’s best-selling game of all time–if you don’t count one particular bundled game from the Wii era. According to Nintendo’s latest financial report, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold 61.97 million units in total as of March 31, 2024. The only other Nintendo game that has done better is Wii Sports at 82.90 million units sold, but considering that the game was bundled in with a Wii console, it is in a different category entirely.
In comparison, the rest of Nintendo’s top-performing games include various titles across multiple platforms. Five Switch games are on the list, the Wii is in second place with four games, and the DS is in third place with a single entry, according to Nintendo:
The 10 best-selling Nintendo games as of March 31, 2024
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe — 61.97 million
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons — 45.36 million
- Mario Kart Wii — 37.38 million
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate — 34.22 million
- Wii Sports Resort — 33.14 million
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild — 31.85 million
- New Super Mario Bros. DS — 30.80 million
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii — 30.32 million
- Wii Play — 28.02 million
- Super Mario Odyssey — 27.96 million
In case you’re wondering where Pokemon is on that list, the previous two generations of the game would still crack the Nintendo top 20 easily–Pokemon Sword and Shield have 26.27 million lifetime sales so far while Pokemon Scarlet and Violet currently sit at 24.92 million–and other notable entries include Wii Fit, Nintendogs, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Other interesting news from Nintendo’s breakdown of its recent 2023-2024 fiscal year is that Switch hardware declined by 12.6% year-on-year from 17.97 million to 15.70 million. Lifetime sales for the Switch are at 141.32 million consoles sold, along with 1.235 billion games sold.
As it enters the latter half of the year, the company will host a Nintendo Direct in June to reveal more upcoming Switch games, but it won’t be talking about its Switch 2 console during this event.
Nintendo Switch Is Shutting Down Twitter Integration Next Month
Nintendo is discontinuing the Switch’s integration with Twitter on June 10. This means players will no longer be able to post screenshots directly from their Switch.
On Nintendo’s FAQ page, the company provided more details on the changes. Some specific games, such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and both Splatoon 2 and 3, will be impacted. In Super Smash Bros., the ability to post from the Switch’s album to Smash World in the Nintendo Switch Online smart device app will be removed.
In Splatoon 2, players will no longer be able to post to Twitter from the mailbox in Inkopolis Square. Additionally, characters that appear and posts displayed in Inkopolis Square will be replaced by data already prepared within the game’s software.
The same applies to Splatoon 3, along with being unable to post from the mailbox in Splatsville and Inkopolis Plaza. Instead, data from Splatoon 3 will be sent directly to Nintendo servers which will allow users to make posts without the need for a social media account.
Players will still be able to post screenshots and videos to Facebook, but the feature may be discontinued at a later date. Nintendo is also removing the ability to send friend requests on social media from within the friend suggestions feature on Switch. However, the feature will still be available through Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, despite their online services completely shutting down last month.
