How To Buy A Special-Edition Nintendo Switch Console Below Retail Price
Nintendo isn’t big on discounting its games or hardware, and it’s not unusual to see products listed at full price years after launch. That’s often the case for Switch consoles, as you don’t often see worthwhile price cuts unless it’s a big shopping holiday. However, if you know where to look, it is possible to get meaningful discounts on Nintendo Switch consoles. Outside of buying from a friend or local seller, one of your best options is eBay, as there are huge distributors with bulk stock of new Nintendo hardware.
From the OLED Model and Lite to the original Nintendo Switch, here’s a look at the best deals at eBay. Keep in mind that all of the console deals from eBay listed below are Japanese imports, but because the platform is region-free, outside of some text on the box, there isn’t a tangible difference between these and the ones you’ll find at your local GameStop. As long as that isn’t a dealbreaker, you can get special-edition consoles that often sell for above retail price in North America for a nice discount.
And if you need some extra controllers to go with your new Switch, take a look at the (slightly) discounted Switch Pro Controller and Tears of the Kingdom-themed Pro Controller ($10 above list price).
Nintendo Switch OLED Console Deals
The cheapest option here is for the Red Super Mario Edition, which is just $288 (down from $350). While all the other OLED offers are for new models, this one is for an open-box console–though it’s said to be in like-new condition. If you prefer something still sealed in its box, then take a look at the Neon Red & Blue edition, as it’s only a few bucks more expensive at $290.
Over at Amazon, third-party sellers have the North American Zelda-themed Switch OLED for as low as $370–only $10 above retail price, to be fair–whereas the import listed on eBay below is $305. That’s even less than the Amazon Renewed (refurbished) models that are going for $319.

Nintendo Switch Console Deals
If you loved Wii Sports, you’ll probably find Switch Sports to be a great addition to your gaming library. In that case, it’s hard to pass up the Nintendo Switch Sports Bundle, which is available for just $270 (down from $350). But if you don’t think you’ll play the game, you can save $10 with the Nintendo Switch Gray Joy-Con that’s listed for $260.

Nintendo Switch Lite Handheld Deals
The Nintendo Switch Lite can’t connect to your TV, but anyone shopping for an ultra-portable gaming console will find this version of the handheld to be the best option. Several Animal Crossing editions are up for grabs, giving you a chance to get a unique design along with a copy of the hit game (supports English language). If you’d be more comfortable buying the North American Animal Crossing-themed handheld, it’s worth noting that Walmart still has the bundle in stock for $199. Though it’s technically not discounted–this was one of the 2023 holiday bundles and exclusive to Walmart–you are getting a $60 game for free.
Meanwhile, the standalone Lite console can be had for $180 (down from $200). It may not seem like much, but that’s actually one of the better discounts we’ve seen so far this year.

Save Over $60 On 12 Months Of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate With Target’s Limited-Time Deal
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is on sale for its best price of the year. Three-month subscription codes are available for $35 at Target (down from $50), while one-month codes are discounted to $11.89. Target’s deal beats out Woot’s $37 offer for three months and $13 one-month deal that went live earlier this month. Woot’s deal initially sold out within days, but it’s available again in case Target’s deal disappears. Target doesn’t list a purchase limit, so you should be able to buy as many codes as you want. Microsoft allows subscribers to stack their Game Pass subscriptions up to six years, so technically the limit here would be 24. We haven’t seen Game Pass Ultimate prices this good in a long time.
Unlike some Game Pass Ultimate promotions, these deals are available to both new and existing members. As mentioned, you can stack Game Pass Ultimate prepaid codes, so you can buy multiple and save even more in the long run. For reference, subscribing to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate directly through Microsoft will cost you $204/year ($17/month), whereas Target’s deal will only cost you $140 (buy four codes)–a savings of $64 is pretty awesome.
Three-month Game Pass Ultimate codes typically go for $50 at most major retailers–though Amazon still sells them for $45–and one-month codes cost $17 ($15 at Amazon and Walmart).
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes hundreds of games, including all first-party Xbox releases and the EA play library. In addition to the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One library, the Ultimate tier grants full access to the PC Game Pass library. Ultimate is also the only Xbox subscription tier that comes with Xbox Cloud Gaming, which lets you stream many Game Pass games on iOS, Android, Steam Deck, PC, MacBook, and even the Meta Quest 2 and 3 VR headsets.
Game Pass Ultimate has added some cool new games lately, including the charming Souls-like Another Crab’s Treasure, stylish RPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, and several EA Sports games including Madden 24, PGA Tour, and NHL 24.

CoD: Warzone And MW3 Season 4 Roadmap Teases Top Secret Events And DNA Mystery
Season 4 of Modern Warfare 3, Warzone, and Warzone Mobile arrives on May 29, and Activision has revealed the full roadmap of content, with highlights that include new weapons to unlock, more MP maps, and a Gundam crossover.
Season 4 weapons and operators
Four new weapons arrive with Season 4. The Superi 46 submachine gun and Kar98k marksman rifle will be available to unlock in the free tiers of the battle pass, while the Reclaimer 18 shotgun and Sledgehammer melee weapon will arrive with the midseason update.
The paid battle pass includes new operator skins for Johnny “Soap” MacTavish, but it also introduces four new operators. Hammer is a new operator who is an instant unlock with the purchase of the battle pass, Void is unlocked at Sector 16, and Dupe and Copy are two BlackCell operators that are exclusive to the premium BlackCell battle pass bundle. This season’s BlackCell operator includes a unique finishing move that copies the enemy’s operator skin and equips it for a single life.
Seasonal events
Activision lists several events for Season 4, but some of the information for later events are “redacted,” and possibly related to the reveal of Call of Duty 2024.
The season starts with the Critical Countdown event. This event runs from May 29 until June 26, and players will be tasked with collecting DNA samples to earn rewards and uncover the details about Season 4’s DNA storyline.
Call of Duty’s latest IP crossover is with Gundam, which includes new shop bundles themed around the franchise. The Mobile Suit Gundam Legends event runs from June 5 until June 19, and earning XP during this time will unlock Gundam-themed rewards.
Lasty, two other events are vaguely teased. One doesn’t give a date or any details, with all information listed as “most secret,” while a second “top secret” event is bookmarked for June 19 until June 26. One of these could be related to the secret collaboration teased on the roadmap, which could be the rumored crossover with Fallout.
Modern Warfare 3
Season 4 introduces three new 6v6 core multiplayer maps. Tokyo and Paris maps arrive at launch, with Tokyo being a nighttime city setting and Paris being a daytime map that gives players a view of the Eiffel Tower. The midseason update will add Incline, which is a snowy outpost in the mountains of Warzone’s Urzikstan.
New game modes include Demolition and Hyper Cranked at launch, while a Headshots Only playlist and other new game modes will arrive at launch.
The update also includes new perks and killstreaks. Players can unlock a new Mission Control Vest perk that helps them earn killstreaks faster and a Compression Plate perk to aid in health regeneration. Four new killstreaks include the return of Call of Duty’s I.M.S, missile drone, DNA Bomb, as well as the new Loitering Munition streak that allows players to leave an unmanned rocket drone in the sky.
Warzone
While Season 4 doesn’t provide any new maps, it does make a change to Urzikstan by adding a mysterious DNA Bomb at Popov Power. The update also teases that the bunkers on the map will be accessible once players discover how to open them.
The gulag will receive four random 1v1 silo variants. Each silo has a slightly different map layout, so players will have a bit of variety when fighting for their second chance.
The update also brings the return of Warzone’s Buy Back Royale Solo playlist for Urzikstan. Additional modes are teased as being “redacted,” and possibly related to upcoming IP crossovers and the reveal of Call of Duty 2024.
In addition to new daily and weekly challenges, Season 4 introduces new Warzone Reward challenges. This offers five different types of Challenge to complete, with each granting a reward:
- Economics: These offer rewards in return for looting and spending cash at Buy Stations
- Contracts: Unlock items for completing different types (and numbers) of contracts
- Social: Interact with enemy players or aid your team to secure more item rewards
- Mode: Complete tasks in different game modes across standard battle royale, Plunder, and Resurgence
- Champion’s Quest: Available to a player if the Champion’s Quest is active in their game
Other features includes the Polaris RZR vehicle to Urzikstan, loot “Hot Zones,” and a redacted weapon that will be revealed at a later date.
Warzone Mobile
Warzone Mobile shares progression with MW3 and Warzone, so the battle pass and BlackCell bundle are available. The game also includes its own special events and new content.
The iconic Crash map from 2007’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is joining the game’s small selection of multiplayer maps.
Additionally, there is a crash taking place on Verdansk, and players will want to investigate the site of the helicopter crash. The roadmap teases this area will have top-secret cargo, but the area may contain “toxic debris” with unnatural elements.
Rebirth Island will also have toxic elements, with green gas-filled barrels littered around the map. These are flammable, but destroying them will earn players special event points in an upcoming event.
Daisy Ridley Wants John Boyega’s Finn To Return In Her Star Wars Movie
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was the final chapter of the Skywalker Saga, but not the end of the Star Wars timeline. During Star Wars Celebration 2023, Lucasfilm announced that Daisy Ridley will reprise her role as Rey Skywalker in a new film that is set 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker. Currently, Ridley is the only confirmed cast member to return for the film. But in a new interview, Ridley expressed her desire to see John Boyega make a comeback as Finn.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ridley was asked if she would like Boyega to be a part of her new sequel. “Absolutely, of course,” replied Ridley. “It feels like we should, yeah.”
Rey and Finn were introduced side-by-side in Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015, and their connection is felt throughout the movie. However, they barely had any screen time together in The Last Jedi, and little development of their relationship in The Rise of Skywalker. In 2020, Boyega vented about his character’s diminished presence on Variety’s The Big Ticket podcast.
“They gave all the nuance to Adam Driver, all the nuance to Daisy Ridley,” said Boyega. “Let’s be honest. Daisy knows this. Adam knows this. Everybody knows. I’m not exposing anything.”
Boyega struck a more conciliatory tone in a 2023 interview with TechRadar after Ridley’s new film was announced. And he seemed more open to the idea of reprising his role as Finn.
“[The comments I made were] a few years ago, so they were the subject of that particular project,” related Boyega. “But I’m open to all characters and scripts that are enjoyable, have a great cast attached, and a terrific director. So yeah, I’m open to all opportunities.”
Rey’s untitled Star Wars film will be directed by by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. It doesn’t currently have a release date.

XDefiant Won’t Have “Pay-To-Win Mechanics,” Ubisoft Says
Ubisoft’s upcoming tactical shooter XDefiant is set to launch this week, and the publisher detailed the game’s “in-game purchase philosophy” in a recent blog post. Most notably, the post says that XDefiant will allow players to unlock all purchasable “gameplay-impacting” content through challenges–or, as Ubisoft puts it, the game will lack “pay-to-win” mechanics.
The blog post offers an example in the form of the DedSec faction, which players can either purchase or earn via an in-game challenge by collecting 700,000 XP. It also details how the game will reward the player’s time through traditional live game mechanics such as free battle pass rewards, daily and weekly challenges, weapon mastery, and more. Ubisoft ends the post by listing the various content types in XDefiant, including the expected premium battle pass and a variety of character and weapon cosmetics.

Often described as Ubisoft’s answer to the Call of Duty series, XDefiant will launch May 21 in preseason. The publisher recently revealed that the free-to-play shooter will not have skill-based matchmaking in its casual play mode, a major contrast to Call of Duty. However, it will not feature ranked play at launch, with Ubisoft stating that the feature will come in a later season. In other Ubisoft news, the publisher recently canceled The Division Heartland to put more resources into XDefiant and the Rainbow Six series.
Call Of Duty’s Season 4 BlackCell DLC Revealed, Has A New Type Of Finishing Move
Call of Duty’s next big season kicks off soon, and that means Activision is releasing another BlackCell DLC pack. The new BlackCell DLC for Season 4 once again delivers the good, as it includes multiple new operators, weapon blueprints with special tracers and death effects, and an impressive-sounding new finishing move.
The finishing move is called “Identity Theft,” and it does just that. This finishing move kills your foe and then copies and equips their skin to yours. This stays in effect until your next death. This is seemingly a brand-new type of finishing move that’s never been seen in Call of Duty before.

Of note, this new finishing move can only be equipped to Dupe or Copy, which are the two new operators included with the Season 4 BlackCell DLC.
The BlackCell DLC bundle also comes with the Ailed Caress BlackCell weapon blueprint for the Holger 556 assault rifle. This includes the Cellular Corruption tracers and the Necrosis death effects. Activision has not released any imagery or video of the death effects, but given the name–Necrosis–it sounds extreme.
Everyone who buys the BlackCell DLC gets all of this, plus 1,100 COD points and access to the exclusive BlackCell sector of the battle pass map for Season 4. There are extra rewards for BlackCell purchasers, including 12 operator skins and seven animated weapon blueprints.
Anyone who buys the BlackCell DLC after buying the standard battle pass will receive 1,100 COD points. BlackCell DLC bundles normally sell for around $30, and it’s expected that will be the price this time.
Season 4 begins May 29 in Modern Warfare III and Warzone. In addition to the new BlackCell content, it includes more multiplayer maps, guns, and brings back an iconic Call of Duty hero from the dead.
