Adapted from the 1985-1986 comic book mini-series, Crisis on Infinite Earths was a benchmark event for DC Comics and helped popularize blockbuster crossover events, similar to how Marvel Comics saw massive success with its Secret Wars series. The big difference here is that once the dust settled, the DC Universe was effectively rebooted and a new status quo was in place. This idea would be revisited over the years, leading to event comics like Zero Hour and Flashpoint which helped clean up some of the messy continuity of those comic books.

Like the source material, Crisis on Infinite Earths tells the story of the Anti-Monitor unleashing an antimatter wave sweeping across the multiverse and erasing countless realities. Heroes from across the multiverse are recruited to stop the Anti-Monitor and don’t be surprised to see hundreds of characters bite the bullet in this finale. In case you missed it, the first act of Crisis on Infinite Earths is now available to order and makes for essential viewing going into the second part.

In other Blu-ray news, don’t miss out on this chance to add fresh 4K remasters of Rocky 5 and Rocky Balboa to your collection of Italian Stallion movies. While all the other Rocky movies have been released in 4K, this is the first time these films have gotten the ultra high-definition treatment.

On the Marvel side of things, preorders are available for the upcoming 4K Blu-ray releases of Moon Knight and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Two other Disney+ shows, Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi, will release alongside the Marvel shows on April 30.
